Master's Student
Harry Clark
Master's Student · Marine Science · KAUST
Harry took the first academic steps into the world of science by completing a BSc in Animal Conservation Science at the University of Cumbria in 2020. Despite being mostly a terrestrial course, he saw that he was increasingly drawn to marine science. This growing interest led him to undertake an MSc in Marine Vertebrate Ecology and Conservation at the University of Exeter later that year. During his master's degree and subsequent years in applied research, he delved deeper into ocean science, exploring topics such as spatial/temporal movements, animal behaviour, population cataloguing, community outreach, and human/wildlife interactions on projects across the UK and southern Europe. In 2024, Harry moved to Saudi Arabia to work as a Marine Species Conservation Specialist where he helped bridge the gap between field data collection, management, and policy implementation. Harry has decided to return to academia to undertake an M.S. degree here at KAUST. He hopes to assist ROCKNHub in its efforts to understand reef productivity in the Red Sea, while continuing to broaden his knowledge of the ocean's connecting networks.
